Something like 80% of internet use is by women. This probably doesn't come as shock. Women, especially Mamas, everywhere are owning the internet like a boss, "girl bosses" as we like to quote Sophia Amoruso.
Mamas starting small shops out of their living room and taking Etsy by storm, Mom Bloggers on everything from fashion to motherhood to design and business.
And then "those MLMers" - love it or hate it, MLMs are taking over and if you're a mama trying to stay home with her littles, make money, and still manage your own life and schedule, (and you've chosen the right one - more on this in a future post) MLMs are the best thing in the world.
Whatever your passion, the new wave of working and being a mama is a dream combination for a lot of women these days, myself included.
I recently was delighted to see a screening of the documentary Dream, Girl, highlighting many female entrepreneurs from all different ages, races, and levels of education. It was so inspiring to see women pursuing their dreams, and watching them unfold. I've also been encouraged by this amazing podcast series by Nikki Elledge Brown, called Naptime Empires™ - refreshingly honest conversations on the realities of parenthood + entrepreneurship - a must listen!
No doubt there is a balance of mixing home and work life, read some of my tips here, but it can be an attractive alternative to the 9-5 hustle if you'd rather stay at home with your littles.
Maybe you're on mat-leave and considering a career switch, I highly recommend flipping through the book, In the Company of Women for an inspiring peek at hundreds of female entrepreneurs that followed a dream and ended up glad they did!
Happy Mother's Day weekend to the stay at home mama, the working mama, the working at home mamas - however you're managing life & littles, and making it work, there's no one like you, Mama and you've got this!! 👏🏼
