Why You Need to See a Foot Reflexologist

I'm not sure if it's because I just didn't live in a very health conscious neighborhood, but I knew very little about foot reflexology before moving to Vancouver. Chiro, sure. Massage, absolutely. But FOOT reflexology? They "just" work on my feet? I'm not sure it sounded quite as good as a massage.

But then I met Suzanne from Foot Guru Reflexology.  A Winnipeg native like myself, I suppose that made me trust her when she told me how amazing foot reflexology is at helping your body balance, heal, and de-stress, especially during the pre and postnatal stages. But I just never knew how good it was until I experienced it for myself.

I'm telling you I was just as relaxed as if I was in the middle of a relaxation massage! I couldn't believe it.

Suzanne arrived to my house (yes, I didn't even have to leave my house!) with her zero gravity chair, (um, I think we all need one of these permanently in our living room - what mama doesn't need to feel like she's relaxed enough to be floating for a few minutes a day?) pillows, towels and a warm blanket. But that was just the start.

Suzanne spent 1 hr working all sides of my feet, in between my toes (ah-mazing!) and my lower legs with specialized techniques to balance my post partum hormones, detox my body and remove excess fluid buildup from pregnancy, stimulate my immune system to help encourage natural healing after giving birth, as well as improve my digestion and overall organ function (including my reproductive organs) and eliminate excess stress and tension! Talk about a long list of benefits!

Unlike deep tissue massages, I found this to be not too intense but just the right about of pressure. You can really feel the tension releasing and your body relaxing in.

Like me you might be wondering, so how does it work? Reflexology is a relaxing and rejuvenating wellness treatment that uses specific compression techniques applied to reflex points on the feet, hands and ears. These points relate to certain parts, organs and glands of the body which when stimulated, trigger that part of the body and help restore balance, reduce stress and promote self healing among other benefits.

To complete this in-home spa-like experience, I had my Young Living Aria Diffuser going (complete with nature sounds and coloured light) with Stress Away (what better essential oil blend is there?!).

I was so relaxed I almost fell asleep! If you were a skeptic, like me, just book one session and you'll understand what I'm talking about! And for you busy mamas, she even comes to your house! Talk about convenience, I was able to breastfeed just before the treatment.

In partnership with Suzanne, I'm excited to be offering an amazing giveaway!

One lucky winner will win a 1 hour personalized in-home foot reflexology session (within Vancouver, or North Shore) and a Something Gorgeous Wellness Bundle of their choosing (fertility, pregnancy, or new mama)!!
