The first food Owen ever ate was avocado. I can just remember his little scrunched up face, although he was so curious he wanted more. We haven't gone too far away from the basic foods like this, but sometimes we mix and match other basic whole foods to start giving him a wider variety of foods.
Our favourite simple combo is avocado + sweet potato + quinoa because it's so simple but packed with protein, healthy fat, and other nutrients.
Quinoa Protein Bowl
1/4-1/2 ripe avocado
1 baked sweet potato
1/4 cup (soaked overnight) and cooked quinoa
Add almond milk or water to get desired consistency.
